Half a mile east on the same boulevard, Blue Crab Shack and Seafood opened its second location at 2602 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd on January 2, 2026, with waterfront views and Maryland-style crab cakes anchoring the menu. That last detail is the whole story of the west corridor. A kosher bagel institution left, and a kosher babka-and-bagel operation replaced it. The plaza did not turn over to a different customer. It got a fresher version of the customer it already had. Bakey seats about 50 guests indoors and another 70 outdoors, with hours Sunday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The menu carries chocolate and almond babkas, cheese burekas, croissants, rugalach, challah loaves and New York-style bagels, and a premium coffee program sourcing beans from Umbria, Italy.
